Study abroad questions, answered

Quick answers to what students and parents ask us most. Rules and requirements change, so confirm current details with a counsellor.

What is Elite Overseas Education?

Elite Overseas Education is a study abroad and English-test coaching consultancy headquartered in Surat, Gujarat. It offers counselling, university and course selection, applications, SOP support, scholarships and loans, student visa assistance, pre-departure and post-arrival services, plus coaching for IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, CELPIP, Duolingo and OET, with offices in India, the UK and Canada.

Which countries can I study in through Elite Overseas?

Elite Overseas supports admissions to the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Germany, France, Poland, Finland, Singapore and Dubai. A counsellor compares your academic profile, budget, career goals and preferred intake to recommend the country and course where your chances of admission and visa approval are strongest.

What documents do I need to study abroad from India?

Most applications need academic transcripts, a valid passport, an English test score (IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, CELPIP or Duolingo), a Statement of Purpose, recommendation letters and a CV. Visa stages add financial and identity documents. Requirements differ by country and university, so your counsellor shares a personalised checklist.

Which English test should I take: IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, CELPIP, Duolingo or OET?

It depends on your destination and university. IELTS and PTE Academic are accepted widely, TOEFL is common for the USA, CELPIP is used for Canada, Duolingo is accepted by many universities, and OET suits healthcare professionals. Always confirm the exact test and score your chosen course requires before booking.

When should I start the study abroad process?

Start 8 to 12 months before your intake. That leaves time to prepare for an English test, shortlist universities, write your SOP, apply, arrange funding and complete the visa process. Late applicants can still apply, but options and scholarship deadlines may be limited. Book counselling for an intake-by-intake timeline.

Does Elite Overseas help with scholarships and education loans?

Yes. Counsellors identify scholarships and financial aid you may qualify for, help you build a strong profile, and guide you through education-loan applications so funding is ready before your visa stage. Scholarship availability depends on the university, course and your profile, and no outcome is guaranteed.

Does Elite Overseas offer visa assistance and interview preparation?

Yes. The visa team provides step-by-step guidance, document checks, form support and rule updates, followed by mock visa interviews and confidence coaching. Elite also supports Canada study-permit extensions and visitor visas for students' parents. Final decisions always rest with the embassy or immigration authority.

Welcome to OET Learning Center

OET Coaching

OET Coaching is a globally recognized English language proficiency test designed specifically for healthcare professionals. It assesses the English communication skills of non-native speakers in real-life medical and healthcare settings.

TOEFL

OET Coaching Overview

OET (Occupational English Test) is managed by the OET Centre and is specifically designed for healthcare professionals who wish to work or study in English-speaking countries. The test is accepted by healthcare regulatory bodies, hospitals, universities, and employers in countries such as Australia, the UK, New Zealand, Ireland, the USA, and more. It assesses a candidate’s English language proficiency in four key skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, using real-life healthcare scenarios.

Candidates can book the OET exam through the official OET website by selecting their preferred test format (paper-based or computer-based), available test centre, and exam date. The test takes approximately 3 hours to complete and the exam fee varies by country (approximately AUD 587). Test results are generally available within 10 to 16 business days, depending on the test format.

The OET test prepares healthcare professionals for international registration, employment, and higher education in English-speaking countries. There are three different ways to take the exam.

OET on Paper

This is the traditional paper-based exam conducted at an authorized OET test centre. All four sub-tests—Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking—are completed using paper materials. It is a suitable option for candidates who are more comfortable writing by hand.

OET on Computer at a Test Venue

In this format, the Listening, Reading, and Writing sub-tests are completed on a computer at an official OET test centre. It offers greater flexibility with more available test dates and generally faster results. This option is ideal for candidates who prefer typing rather than handwriting.

OET@Home

OET@Home allows eligible candidates to take the test remotely from home using a secure online platform with remote supervision. This format offers added convenience; however, availability depends on your country, profession, and the requirements of the organization where you intend to submit your OET scores

Listening:

The Listening section of the OET measures the candidate’s ability to understand spoken English in healthcare settings. Test takers listen to patient consultations, workplace discussions, and healthcare presentations, then answer questions based on the recordings. The Listening test consists of three parts with a total of 42 questions and takes approximately 45 minutes.

Speaking:

The Speaking section measures the candidate’s ability to communicate effectively in healthcare situations. Candidates participate in two role-plays based on real-life medical scenarios, interacting with an interlocutor who plays the role of a patient or caregiver. The Speaking test takes approximately 20 minutes, including preparation time.

Reading:

The Reading section assesses the candidate’s ability to understand written healthcare-related texts. It includes tasks such as locating specific information, reading detailed medical articles, and interpreting professional documents. The Reading test consists of three parts with a total of 42 questions and takes 60 minutes to complete.

Writing:

The Writing section evaluates the candidate’s ability to produce professional healthcare documents in English. Candidates are required to write a profession-specific letter, such as a referral, discharge, or transfer letter, based on case notes provided. The Writing test contains one task and lasts 45 minutes.
