To successfully apply for Canadian institutions and the SDS visa, Indian students must meet specific academic and English proficiency criteria.
Proper financial planning is essential. Canada offers excellent value for money and opportunities for eligible international students to secure funding.
Your $20,635 CAD GIC is designed to cover these first-year expenses. Monthly costs vary widely by city (e.g., Toronto vs. Halifax).
Canadian universities reward academic excellence. Elite Overseas counselors actively assist in identifying and applying for eligible scholarships.
Entrance Scholarships: Eligible students may be automatically considered for certain entrance scholarships based on their academic performance and admission profile. Scholarship eligibility and amounts vary.
Merit-Based Awards: High-achieving international students may be eligible for merit-based scholarships, with award values varying by university and program.
Canada provides unmatched opportunities to gain international work experience during and after your studies.
Eligible international students in Canada can work up to 24 hours per week off campus while their classes are in session, provided they meet the requirements set by IRCC.
During regularly scheduled academic breaks, such as summer or winter holidays and eligible reading weeks, students may work unlimited hours off campus, subject to IRCC eligibility requirements.
The PGWP lets eligible international students work in Canada after completing an eligible program at a PGWP-eligible institution.
Programs of 2 years or more: You may qualify for a PGWP of up to 3 years.
Eligible Master’s programs: You may qualify for a 3-year PGWP, even if the program is less than 2 years, as long as it is at least 8 months and you meet IRCC requirements.
Diploma and certificate programs: Additional eligibility rules, including field-of-study requirements, may apply depending on when you applied for your study permit..
Canadian work experience gained after graduation can be valuable for your Canadian immigration journey. Eligible skilled work experience may help you qualify for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and can also contribute to your Express Entry CRS score.
Depending on your profile, Canadian work experience may also support eligibility for certain Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) streams. However, immigration eligibility and selection criteria vary by program and province.

The Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) requirement is $20,635 CAD. This is deposited into a participating Canadian financial institution to prove you can support your first-year living expenses.
The primary intakes are Fall (September) and Winter (January). A limited number of programs are also available during the Spring/Summer (May) intake.
While some DLIs may accept alternative English tests (like Duolingo) for non-SDS applications, an IELTS Academic score of 6.0 (or PTE equivalent) is highly recommended and mandatory for the fast-track SDS visa stream.
Under recent rules, graduates of master's degree programs can qualify for a full 3-year Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), even if the length of their program was under 2 years.
Tell us about your academic background, preferred course and target intake. Our counsellors can help you understand your Canadian study options, PAL requirements, and plan your next steps.
As India is a non-English speaking nation every student is required to appear for English proficiency tests such as IELTS/PTE/TOEFL for admission, and few top Universities require GRE or GMAT.
