Available Intakes

In Canada there are two major intakes where students can apply to colleges and universities

  • September intake:- The September intake is the main intake in Canada. This intake is when most undergraduate and graduate programs begin. Applications for this intake are usually due between October and January.
  • January intake:- The January intake is less common in Canada, this intake has a limited number of undergraduate and graduate programs. Applications for this intake are usually due between June and September.
  • Canada even offers a May intake but only a handful of programs and colleges offer this intake and the application process starts around September and February.

Program Duration and stay back period

  • UG Bachelor’s Program:- The duration for an Undergraduate program in Canada lasts for Four years, however, some programs may take a shorter time depending upon the field of study and institution. After successful completion of an Undergraduate degree, the student can apply for post-graduation work permit (PGWP) for 3 years.
  • PG Master’s Program:- A master’s program usually takes around 2 years to complete, some programs may take a shorter duration depending upon the field of study and institute. After completion, a student can apply for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) which depends upon the length of the program, for the 1-year course a student gets 1 year of post-graduation work permit (PGWP) and for a 2-year course the student is eligible for post-graduation work permit (PGWP) up to 3 years.
  • PG Diploma Program:- The duration of a postgraduate diploma program in Canada varies depending on the field of study and the institution. These programs can range from one to two years. After successfully completing a postgraduate diploma program, international students can apply for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) which depends upon the length of the program. For 1 year course, a student gets 1 year of PSW and for a 2-year course, the student is eligible for PSW up to 3 years.
